Absolutely heartbreaking. Kobe Bryant is one of the best competitors I have ever seen in anything and just as he is slightly getting his rhythm back, he fractures his left knee and is out for 6 weeks. Now I know my buddy DJ already wrote about this topic, but I have been covering the Lakers recently so I figure I should give my thoughts. The question everyone is going to be asking is if Kobe getting hurt and being out of the lineup is going to be better for the Lakers. The Lakers were 10-9 without Kobe and 2-4 since his return. He was averaging 13.8 points and 6.3 assists while shooting 42.5% from the field in his 6 games. The big thing for him was his turnovers, averaging 5.7 which is extremely high. While that turnover number is rough to say the least, I believe that the Lakers do need Kobe, especially right now. Steve Nash, Jordan Farmar, and recently Steve Blake have all been hurt which left it up to Kobe to handle the point guard duties. Well now, they don't even have Kobe to run point and will most likely need to rely on Xavier Henry and Jodie Meeks to handle the ball. Really expecting the offense to run through Pau and only Pau.
Love it:
