Johnny Manziel voted himself third in Heisman voting?

Orlando Sentinel- Manziel, who now has a Heisman vote as a past winner, was asked who he voted for on his ballot.

“I’m going to follow the Heisman Trust on that one and keep it quiet,” Manziel said opting not to reveal his vote. He did admit that while he was allowed to vote for himself, he did not.

“I did not vote for myself in first or second place,” he said.

I'm thinking two possibilities here:

1. He already won the Heisman and did his whole Heisman tour so he didn't want to win the award again and figured that someone else deserved some of the spotlight and criticism that he received. 

OR

2. He was so confident in winning the Heisman that he just voted himself 3rd for shits and gigs.  Would not be surprised at all by this and would love if this was actually the case.
