How terrifying were Furbies?

I was watching TV when I saw a commercial for Duracell and what looked like a furby popped up onto the screen.  My goodness, those are scary, especially the grey one on the right.  My brothers both had them when they were younger and I remember being extremely jealous and thinking back on it, I must have been an idiot.  I'm pretty sure one of them spoke spanish too which was a weird twist.

I did some research for the price on amazon and saw them for more than $50 and immediately thought, well that's ridiculous.

I hope I never see one again.
