Celtics vs. Pistons Preview
This could be a tough game for the C's in the Garden, as the Pistons are coming off of two very impressive games. On Sunday, they lost to Portland 111-109 on the first of Damian Lillard's heroic game winning shots in the past two games. One night later, they proceeded to march into Indiana and beat the East's best team 101-96. Look, i'm not saying the Pistons are a great team. But for the first time in a while, I think they have a pretty good idea of what type of team they are. They went out this offseason and grabbed two big free agents, Forward Josh Smith and Guard Brandon Jennings. Unlike their previous off-season disaster signings (Charlie Villanueva and Ben Gordon) I think that they made the right moves by signing these guys. They got both of them in the prime of their careers and they've already showed it with their play on the court. Combined with the emerging play of Center Andre Drummond (one of the few Uconn draft selections that appears to be working out)and forward Greg Monroe, the Pistons have a pretty formidable team.
With all that being said, I think that the Celtics are gonna compete for the full 48 minutes tonight. I don't think that this will be a blowout by any means, as Jeff Green and Avery Bradley give the C's enough athleticism to compete with the young and athletic starting line-up for the Pistons. However, i'm gonna have to bite the bullet on this one and go against the home team. I really don't think that the C's are gonna leave the Garden with a win tonight, the Pistons are playing too well right now. I think the game will be close until the 4th quarter when the Pistons pull away and win by 10. This one killed me but I can't lie to myself and say that I think the Celtics will win.
