Tom Crist Gives Away All 40 Million of his Lotto Winnings

(CNN) -- Tom Crist was enjoying a trip to California, having lunch at a golf course in Palm Springs, when the call that could change his life came. It was officials with the lottery in western Canada, and they were telling him he had won $40 million. But instead of making plans for a big spending spree, Crist immediately decided that every dollar -- every single buck -- was to go to charity to honor his late wife. Somebody needs to get this guy a nobel prize. This is definitely one of the most respectable things that anybody can do, especially someone that's only two years removed from the tragedy of losing his wife. Takes a lot of balls to give away 40 million dollars, regardless of whether or not you think you can support your kids for the rest of your life without it.

PS- Any significance of this guy's last name being one letter away from "Christ", cause he's definitely doing his best Jesus imitation right before Christmas.

PSS- A couple day's ago I wrote a post about what I would do if I won the mega millions and it was almost the exact opposite of this. Fuck me, right.

PSSS- Not to sound like a complete asshole, but where's the tax on this guy's winnings. Government takes almost half of every lotto winner's money but when a guy decides not to take it, they don't tax. Love to hear the Lotto company explain that one.
