Big Lotto Numbers

from source: (CNN) -- The Mega Millions jackpot is juicy, but thanks to new, longer odds, it's entirely possible the payout could reach $1 billion by Christmas.
Nope, that wasn't a typo -- "b" as in "boy."When no winner was selected in Friday's drawing, the jackpot rolled over to $550 million, the second-largest Mega Millions payout everafter the $656 million kitty collected in April. It jumped again Monday to $586 million, with a cash payout of $316.5 million, said Tandi Reddick, a spokeswoman for the Georgia Lottery. The total could easily increase again before Tuesday night's drawing.

                                                             As the numbers are announced

Don't even know where to start with this one. I understand that taxes will probably take away at least 40 percent of the 1 billion dollar prize in the most recent Mega Millions giveaway. Even with those taxes, can you imagine taking home 500 million dollars in the holiday season. I know what you all must be thinking, you gotta "get in the christmas spirit" and "Share the wealth." Fuck that. I'm buying a copy of rosetta stone, learning whatever language gets me to an obscure country, and changing my family name from Anderson to Rosario. I'm then proceeding to take my family to said obscure country and not re-appearing in public for at least five years.

I think that's gotta be the train of thought for anybody taking home that kind of money, too many people that would hunt you down after you randomly win that much. There's plenty of time to spread the wealth when your on safely away from anybody that saw your name published as the winner.

PS: The tax system on the lottery is bullshit, someone please give me a logical explanation why that much money in the winnings immediately goes to taxes.
