NFL Wild Card round Saturday picks

First day of the NFL postseason starts today.  Pretty pumped to say the least as we've got some intriguing games featuring the Chiefs at Colts and Saints at Eagles.  I'll make my picks for the games with no line, just straight up and give my justification for each pick.  You may agree or disagree with my picks and if you want to comment about what you think, go right ahead.  We love comments.

Chiefs at Colts NBC 4:35 PM.
They just played recently and my boy Donald Brown had himself a DAY.  Former UConn running back had over 100 yards in total and 2 touchdowns leading to a dominating 23-7 win in Kansas City.  So, the Chiefs were really good at the beginning of the year, starting out 9-0 but have dropped 5 of their last 7 and our limping into the playoffs.  They are going to be without a starting wide receiver, linebacker, and left tackle, and could be without another linebacker and 1st overall pick Eric Fisher.  The Colts, on the other hand, are playing their best football in a while right now riding a 3 game winning streak into the playoffs (even though 2 of those wins were against Houston and Jacksonville).  But, still, the Colts have beaten good teams all year and sometimes all you need to do is get hot heading into the playoffs.  Colts win.

Saints at Eagles NBC 8:10 PM.
I woke up this morning remembering to make these picks and immediately thought that I like Brees over Foles, easy.  But, then I asked myself, do I?  Do I like the Saints to beat the Eagles in Philadelphia?  It's going to be really cold, not as cold as in Green Bay, but nonetheless, really cold, and the Saints are used to playing their comfortable Superdome.  Sunday NFL Countdown must have been thinking the same think I was thinking as I saw some interesting stats they brought up about the Saints.  They are 3-5 on the road this year, compared to their 8-0 record at home.  And, in their history they are 0-5 on the road in the playoffs which is the 2nd worst road playoff record behind the Bengals who are 0-6.  The biggest thing I saw though was that dome teams are 0-7 on the road in the playoffs since 2009.  That's not a good sign for the Saints.  Eagles win.
